In order to address the issue of water logging on National Highway in the Gurugram District of Haryana, a meeting was organized at NHAI Head Quarter in New Delhi. Chaired by NHAI Chairman, Shri Santosh Kumar Yadav, the meeting was attended by CEO of Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), officials from Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority (FMDA), Municipal Corporation Manesar (MCM), Municipal Corporation Delhi (MCD), Delhi Cantonment Board (DCB) & other senior NHAI Officials.
In addition to finding immediate and permanent solutions to avert the water logging issues on the National Highways in the region, the officials also discussed various aspects to find effective solutions to prevent encroachments, unauthorized cuts and illegal connections to the National Highways.
The officials deliberated on developing a multi-pronged strategy to provide effective solution to water logging. As an immediate measure, installation of water pumps in low lying areas along with proper measures for effective drainage of rainwater was discussed. Chairman NHAI emphasized on better co-ordination amongst all the govt. agencies for a prompt action to address the issue.
In order to study the reasons of waterlogging around Dhaula Kuan and Subroto Park, a specialized agency shall be engaged to suggest the remedial measures.
Also, project wise issues of Gurugram- Pataudi- Rewari, Dwarka Expressway & Gurugram, Sohna were also discussed in the meeting to provide safe and seamless travel experience to the National Highway commuters.
